Job Description: This position will assist the Principal and alternative education teachers in providingguidance for potential graduates and other students in need of extra support. Additional duties will be toorganize field trips, service-learning opportunities, college and career exploration activities, as well as,other activities in and out of the building.
Primary Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Associates degree in education or related field is preferred.
- Prior experience working in a school environment is preferred but not required.
- Work with potential graduates and their families to insure a successful senior year.
- Assist Principal and instructional staff with support services throughout the building.
- Create and manage student success plans.
- Provide college and career exploration opportunities for students.
- Lead service-learning initiatives.
- Participate in required professional development activities.

Qualifications and Experience:
- MSW or MA in psychology or counseling.
- School Social Work Certificate preferred but not required.
- Ability to develop and implement behavior intervention plans, classroom management systems, and reinforcement systems.
- Ability to use effective instructional strategies and techniques for at-risk learners.
- Experience in the development and implementation of affective/social skills lessons.
- Experience in the development and implementation of progress monitoring systems.
- Experience with group facilitation and problem-solving strategies.
- Ability to effectively lead/facilitate group processes.
- Supports the design, adjustments and communication of an effective school-wide system of behavioral support to benefit all learners.
- Lead team process to develop, implement, consult, and monitor individual behavior plans throughout the entire school environment.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and building principal to contribute to the establishment of an optimal learning environment.
- Serve as consult to teachers in need of engagement, motivation, and behavior adaptation strategies to increase achievement of students.

Terms of Employment: This is a 180 day school year position with a starting salary of $54,041. The position includes; family health insurance, sick leave, personal time and paid school year holidays.
